Detailed First Day Steps
1. Pickup your University Card |
Your College Administration or Departmental HR team manage your card, including expiry date, not IT. All your University accounts are tied to the expiry date on your University card, so if that expires your accounts will stop working. This includes emails and WiFi. |
2. Activate your Oxford SSO (Single-Sign On) | You must have photo ID to allow IT to provide you with your SSO activation details, this will normally be your University Card. If you are working 100% remotely but you have had confirmation your card has arrived, a driving license or passport should work as an equivalent, and will generally be confirmed via a video call. Once you have your activation code, go to https://webauth.ox.ac.uk/activate and follow the steps. |
3. Setup MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) |
https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info You will need both a computer (desktop or laptop) plus your mobile phone. |
4. Add a second MFA factor |

5. Access your emails (Nexus/Outlook) |
